Head Resourcing was a main sponsor of the Digital Technology Awards 2012, organised by software and IT trade body ScotlandIS. The award show was held last night (Thursday June 21st), and a few of the team went along to witness the recognition being given to some of the most innovative and successful technology companies in Scotland.

Polly Purvis, Executive Director of ScotlandIS said:

“The technology sector, worth £4bn to the Scottish economy, is a key driver for growth and a jewel in Scotland’s economic crown.  It’s an exciting and vibrant industry employing a very wide range of talented people and we are delighted to recognise the achievements of the industry’s leading lights.”

Monica Duddy and Ben Gillespie of Head Resourcing presented the award for ‘technology innovation within Financial Services’, which went to miiCard, who provide ‘an innovative online Digital Identity Verification service allowing customers to prove for the first time ‘they are who they say they are’ to bank regulation standards without the need for a physical ID check.  MiiCard recently secured £1.6m funding to accelerate the adoption of their ‘digital passport’ and support their expansion into the US market.’

Our IT & Quality Manager, Tori Long, commented that “it’s fantastic to see home-grown industry-leading talent being recognised within the digital technology sector in Scotland. It’s very evident what a technologically innovative country we have. I’m particularly pleased to see specialist online recruitment software provider, Firefish Software, winning the award for best newcomer.”
