Sorry Columbo, I’ve got work to do!
January 28, 2013
I started work here at Head Resourcing at the start of January. I had already shared a few beers with the team at the Christmas do a few weeks previously, so I couldn’t wait to get started after being made to feel like one of the family!
On my first day, I was delighted to escape garden leave and more episodes of Columbo than I thought humanly possible. Now, as a recruitment consultant I had prepared countless candidates for their first day so I was pretty confident I knew what I was doing. The suit was pressed, shoes polished, the shirts for the week were crisp and ironed hanging in the wardrobe, but the one thing I hadn’t prepared for was the alarm clock going off so early.
I arrived at Head Resourcing HQ and after a quick chat with my new MD Huw Martin, I knew I had made the right choice in joining the team. Everyone was keen to say hello and I felt a real buzz about the office. I could tell they were all busy but they made loads of time to tell me about what they did, how they did it and their history with the company. That’s one of the things I love about Head Resourcing – they’re not like other typical employers where your first day is death by Powerpoint. It was an interactive induction which made all that stuff easier to take in and I could tell my colleagues live and breathe the company values.
So far I’ve been to a few client meetings, met our friends at Head Medical, and also attended our 2012 Review event where I got a taste for the Head Resourcing awards! Obviously no gongs for me but I’ve got my fingers crossed for next year.
So here I am, three weeks in and surrounded by a team of committed and hard-working recruiters. There’s a wealth of opportunity here at Head with new business wins flying in right left and centre, so much so that I feel within the next few months we’re going to need a few more desks!
Take me back.
